Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes)

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join a large enterprise cloud platform team working in a regulated international environment.

This role is focused on building and supporting secure, scalable, and repeatable infrastructure automation across Microsoft Azure environments. It is a strong fit for someone with deep hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code, Azure automation, cloud governance, and platform engineering.

This is not a greenfield DevOps role. The main focus is on standardisation, governance, reliability, automation, and operational excellence across enterprise infrastructure.

What you will do

• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and related automation technologies.
• Build automation workflows for infrastructure deployment, configuration management, and operational support.
• Implement Azure deployment standards, naming conventions, governance controls, and platform best practices.
• Automate provisioning, monitoring, reporting, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Logic Apps.
• Build and support infrastructure deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Maintain source-controlled infrastructure repositories and configuration standards.
• Troubleshoot IaC deployment failures, automation issues, and platform configuration problems.
• Perform root cause analysis and improve deployment reliability.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Development teams.
• Contribute to cloud platform modernisation and migration initiatives.
• Document automation solutions, deployment procedures, architectural standards, and support processes.
• Analyse operational and deployment metrics to identify further automation opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, automation, or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Expert-level Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Strong practical experience with:
  • Terraform
  • Bicep
  • Azure ARM templates
  • JSON-based deployment frameworks
• Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Experience with Azure Logic Apps or similar automation workflows.
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines, deployment automation, source control, and release management.
• Experience integrating infrastructure deployment into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Git-based development practices.
• Understanding of cloud networking, identity, storage, monitoring, and Azure platform services.
• Experience with cloud governance, infrastructure standards, security, resiliency, and change management.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong written and spoken English.

• Experience with Azure Private Endpoints and Private DNS.
• Azure Policy, Management Groups, and governance frameworks.
• Hybrid cloud experience.
• Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Terraform, DevOps, or automation certifications.
