Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring our software products meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Validation

• Conduct daily quality assurance and quality control testing by reviewing software requirements and verifying that features function as intended across all modules
• Test and validate UI functionality including grid/chart operations, data filtering, aggregation, navigation, dropdown interdependencies, and report generation to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Verify statistical calculations and data visualizations such as column/row Min/Avg/Max values, weighted averages, and time-based aggregations (Daily By Hour, Monthly By Year)
• Perform comprehensive UI migration testing to ensure new interface matches legacy UI functionality while validating new features meet specifications
• Execute regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains intact after updates or new feature implementations

Issue Management & Collaboration

• Identify and document software issues including crashes, missing error messages, and data inconsistencies with detailed reproduction steps
• Collaborate with engineering teams to reproduce and diagnose technical problems, providing clear and actionable feedback
• Track and prioritize defects using bug tracking systems, ensuring timely resolution and verification
• Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings to align testing efforts with development cycles

Documentation & Process Improvement

• Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing documentation
• Develop and update QA procedures and best practices to improve testing efficiency
• Generate quality metrics and reports to track testing progress and product quality trends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and software development lifecycle
• Experience with UI/UX testing and validation across different browsers and platforms
• Proficiency in creating detailed test cases and documenting defects
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla)
• Understanding of statistical calculations and data visualization concepts
• ISTQB or similar QA certification

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in testing web-based applications and user interfaces
• Experience with data validation and verification techniques
• Understanding of API testing and integration testing
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Basic scripting knowledge for test automation (preferred)
