Senior Platform Developer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Platform Developer to join our Engineering team, focusing on database architecture, data transformation, workflow automation, and AI integration. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining the data infrastructure and automated systems that power our internal and client-facing products. This role requires deep backend expertise combined with a strong automation and AI mindset, and the ability to own systems end-to-end in a fast-moving, small team environment.
 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following minimum experience standards:

• Node.js Backend: 5+ years of professional experience building scalable backend services, with strong command of asynchronous programming, data pipelines, and complex business logic.
• Database Architecture: Strong working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and data modeling for high-volume transformations.
• Data Transformation: Experience designing and maintaining ETL or data transformation pipelines — cleaning, normalizing, and routing data across systems.
• Automation Expertise: 1+ years of hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n (preferred), Make.com, or Zapier, including writing custom code nodes and managing multi-step workflows.
• AI Integration: Experience integrating LLMs (e.g., OpenAI API, Gemini, Claude) into backend workflows, including prompt engineering, structured output handling, and building AI-augmented pipelines.
• API Integration: Solid command of integrating third-party REST/GraphQL APIs, handling authentication (OAuth2, API Keys), and managing rate limits and error recovery.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining backend services on DigitalOcean and/or Google Cloud Platform, including working with managed databases and containerized environments (Docker).
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and familiarity with CI/CD workflows.
• Claude Code/Codex: Advanced experience.
   

Plus Skills

Experience in any of the following areas is a significant advantage:

• Python: Willingness and ability to write Python scripts where needed for data processing, ML tooling, or integrations that lack Node.js support.
• Advanced AI Workflows: Familiarity with LangChain, vector databases (RAG), or multi-agent orchestration patterns.
• Frontend Exposure: Working knowledge of React or Next.js to build lightweight internal dashboards or tooling interfaces.
• Technical SEO: Understanding of SEO data metrics (Volume, KD, CPC) and content performance signals — useful for engineering logic behind data-driven content systems.
   

Key Responsibilities

• Database Architecture: Design, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL schemas to support data transformation workflows, session management, and reporting needs.
• Data Transformation: Build reliable pipelines that ingest, clean, transform, and route data between internal systems and third-party APIs.
• Automation Development: Build and maintain automation workflows in n8n and Node.js — including custom logic nodes, error handling, and retry strategies.
• AI Integration: Implement LLM-powered features into backend pipelines, including prompt design, structured JSON output parsing, and model orchestration.
• API Ecosystem Management: Integrate and maintain connections with tools such as Slack, Google Drive, Google Analytics, and other data sources and destinations.
• System Reliability: Monitor, debug, and improve the reliability of automated systems — handling edge cases like API timeouts, context window limits, and malformed data.
• Cloud Operations: Deploy and manage backend services on DigitalOcean and Google Cloud, including scaling, environment configuration, and uptime.
• Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation for data models, automation architectures, and API integrations to support team knowledge sharing.
