Junior Manual QA Engineer

NBC Sports Engine Rapid Replay is a cutting-edge sports video platform that enables athletes, coaches, and sports organizations to instantly review game footage, analyze performance, and access video highlights in near real-time. The platform processes high volumes of video content and delivers seamless replay experiences across web and mobile applications.
 

We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer who combines a strong quality mindset with practical AI skills to help accelerate testing, improve coverage, and enhance product quality through modern AI-powered workflows.
 

As a Junior QA Engineer, you will work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Designers to ensure the quality and reliability of the Rapid Replay platform. You will execute manual testing, assist with automation efforts, and leverage AI tools to increase testing efficiency, generate test cases, analyze defects, and improve QA processes.

Responsibilities:

• Execute manual testing for web and mobile applications.
• Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and regression suites.
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and QA reviews.
• Validate new features against product requirements and acceptance criteria.

AI-Driven QA Activities:

• Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) to:
  • Generate and optimize test cases.
  • Create edge-case scenarios.
  • Assist with exploratory testing.
  • Analyze logs and defect patterns.
  • Improve test documentation.
  • Support automation script generation.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve QA efficiency using AI.

Product & Domain Testing

• Test video playback and streaming functionality.
• Validate replay generation workflows.
• Verify user experience across multiple browsers and devices.
• Perform API testing and data validation.
• Assist in testing integrations with third-party sports technology systems.
   

Required Qualifications:

QA Fundamentals

• 1+ years of experience in Software QA OR strong internship/project experience.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Experience creating test cases and reporting bugs.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar issue-tracking tools.
• Understanding of web application testing principles.

AI Skills (Required)

• Demonstrated experience using AI tools in daily work.
• Ability to write effective prompts for:
  • Test case generation
  • Bug investigation
  • Requirement analysis
  • Automation support
• Understanding of how AI can improve software quality processes.
• Comfortable experimenting with new AI tools and workflows.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of APIs and API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, Insomnia).
• Familiarity with browser developer tools.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Understanding of client-server architecture.
• Basic understanding of test automation concepts.

English

• Upper-Intermediate (B2+) or higher.
• Ability to communicate effectively with US-based stakeholders.
