Backend Software Engineer (Python)

GlobalLogic is looking for a Software Engineer to join a dedicated team delivering a high-fidelity medical technology platform. This role is designed for a developer with a primary focus on backend services and cloud infrastructure, contributing to the development of a multi-region SaaS architecture. While your core strengths should lie in backend logic and cloud environments, you will also have the opportunity to support Vue.js frontend tasks as needed to ensure end-to-end feature delivery.

Job Description

• Professional Experience: 2–4 years of experience in software development.
• Backend Expertise: Solid foundation in Python development.
• Cloud Knowledge: Working experience with AWS services and an understanding of multi-region architectures.
• Frontend Awareness: Basic familiarity with Vue.js; willingness to learn and contribute to frontend tasks when necessary.
• Execution Focus: Proven ability to handle day-to-day implementation tasks and manage individual ticket assignments effectively.
• Regulated Industry: Familiarity with delivering software for regulated environments (e.g., medical devices or healthcare) is highly preferred.
• Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate within a distributed engineering team.

Job Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Implement and maintain scalable backend logic using Python-based services.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Support the development and optimization of services hosted within AWS environments.
• Full-Stack Flexibility: Contribute to Vue.js (2 & 3) frontend tasks when required to support the usability and tech debt workstreams.
• Backlog Execution: Own the day-to-day implementation of tasks within the project backlog, focusing on backend reliability and API performance.
• Performance & Observability: Assist in establishing performance baselines and improving service observability across the platform.
• Regulated Quality: Ensure all code contributions adhere to strict quality standards for regulated product delivery within the healthcare sector.
• Team Collaboration: Pair with senior engineers on complex tickets and participate in rotations to support infrastructure and platform work.
