Senior Backend Lead Engineer - .NET / C# / Azure

Solum Health is looking for a Senior Full-Stack / Backend Lead Engineer to join a near-launch HealthTech product focused on nutrition and healthier shopping decisions for the US market.

This is an existing product (18+ months in development), not a greenfield project. We are replacing an outgoing lead engineer, so we need someone who can quickly understand an existing architecture, take ownership of the backend, and help drive the product through launch.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the existing backend architecture
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and workflows
• Work with complex product and nutrition data
• Support integrations with external data providers
• Manage product scoring and recalculation logic
• Work with Azure-based infrastructure and databases
• Support receipt-processing and purchase-tracking workflows
• Collaborate with mobile developers and distributed teams

• Make pragmatic technical decisions in a fast-moving environment

   

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with .NET and C#
• Solid backend development expertise
• Experience working with existing production codebases
• Strong SQL and NoSQL knowledge
• Experience with Azure backend systems
• Experience designing APIs and backend workflows
• Strong architecture and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding

• Experience supporting production or near-production systems

   

Nice to Have

• HealthTech / Nutrition / Retail / Grocery domain experience
• Barcode scanning or receipt-processing systems
• Scoring / recommendation engine experience
• React or React Native experience
• Startup or scale-up background

• Experience joining rescue or replacement projects
