The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and a passion for building resilient, scalable, cloud-based systems.

What We’re Looking For

Required skills:

· 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

· Proven expertise with Elixir and OTP principles

· Proficiency using a variety of database technology, both relational and non-relational, and in particular PostgreSQL (schemas, queries, performance tuning, JSONB, indexing strategies)

· Hands on experience deploying and managing applications on AWS (EKS, S3, Aurora)

· Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, testable code (TDD/BDD practices mandatory)

· Experience working in Agile teams (code reviews, refinement, demos, CI/CD practices)

· Good understanding of version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)

Nice to have:

· Experience with Phoenix framework

· Knowledge of observability tools (AppSignal, Datadog, etc.)

· Experience with Node.js, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL and other technologies that we use to link to other parts of our systems

· Designing and developing server-side features in Elixir/Phoenix backed by PostgreSQL

· Deploying and managing cloud workloads in AWS with scalability and resilience in mind

· Leading architecture discussions and solving complex engineering challenges

· Working on new and existing projects that power a point-of-sale geared towards convenience stores

· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver value to our customers

· Writing, reviewing, and improving code through peer reviews and unit/integration testing
