Associate Quality Engineer — Infrastructure and Performance Focus

We need an infrastructure-minded tester with solid Azure testing experience and hands-on non-functional and performance testing skills, who can bring engineering discipline to quality across complex, high-value platforms.

What this role is about

This is not a traditional testing role. You will design and automate intelligent test strategies that are built directly into CI/CD pipelines — covering everything from APIs and integrations to end-to-end workflows and infrastructure behaviour. You will work in data-heavy, regulated environments where precision matters, partnering with developers and product owners to shift quality left and replace manual bottlenecks with scalable, code-driven validation.

What you will actually do

Design and execute test scenarios across functional, integration, regression, and workflow layers

Work with developers, analysts, and product owners to shape user stories and define clear, testable acceptance criteria

Build reusable test data, automation scripts, and frameworks embedded directly into CI/CD pipelines

Drive root cause analysis and risk-based prioritisation to catch defects early and protect sprint velocity

Champion a shift-left, quality-first mindset across Agile ceremonies, with attention to security, accessibility, and usability

Continuously expand automation coverage and reduce reliance on manual testing

What you bring — essential

5+ years of hands-on QA experience across development and integration components

3+ years validating APIs and RESTful services

Strong knowledge of TDD, BDD, pairing, and modern engineering practices

Experience supporting QA from solution architecture level down to individual components

Proven ability to build or extend test automation frameworks within CI/CD environments

UI testing experience across web and mobile platforms

Automation experience with Playwright or similar tools

Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

Non-functional testing across performance, load, stress, and soak scenarios — for example using JMeter

Exposure to Azure DevOps, App Insights, or email testing tools such as Mailpit or Mailhog

Familiarity with SQL, PL-SQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL

Understanding of JSON, XML, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript

QA background in regulated financial environments such as banking or insurance
