Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)

Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure) Remote - work from anywhere in Europe | Full-time contractor

You’ll own the Azure cloud infrastructure for a global services company running a core internal platform - a platform used across multiple countries and business units. This isn’t greenfield, but it’s close: the current setup needs someone who can modernize it, lock down security, and build proper automation where today there’s manual work and tribal knowledge.

What you’ll do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure (VMs, networking, storage, AKS, microservices)
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, PowerShell, Azure DevOps)
• Implement and monitor cloud security - Defender, Sentinel, NSGs, conditional access, DLP
• Manage hybrid AD environments, Entra ID (Azure AD), B2C, and Intune device policies
• Administer M365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) and handle migrations
• Troubleshoot escalated infrastructure and security incidents as L3 support
• Mentor junior team members and maintain technical documentation

Azure (VMs, AKS, Virtual Network, Express Route, VPN, Site Recovery, AVD), M365 and Entra ID, Defender for Cloud and Endpoints, Sentinel SIEM, CrowdStrike, Intune and Autopilot, SQL Server/Azure SQL/Cosmos DB · PowerShell, Terraform, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, Windows Server 2016-2022, Linux, Hyper-V.

Must have

• 4+ years hands-on with Azure infrastructure and networking
• Strong Azure/M365 security experience (Defender, Sentinel, DLP, conditional access)
• Solid scripting (PowerShell) and automation mindset
• Experience with hybrid AD and identity management
• Upper-Intermediate+ English (daily async communication with global team)

Nice to have

• Azure certs (AZ-104, AZ-500, MS-500)
• Intune/Autopilot device management
• Experience with AI tooling (Copilot, AI-assisted ops)
• ITIL familiarity
• Database administration (MSSQL, Cosmos DB)
