Middle +/Senior Full-Stack Developer (Rails + Next.js), EdTech Platform

Position name: Full-Stack Developer (Rails + Next.js)
Level: Middle+ / Senior

Hard skills requirements (including years):

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer in a software development environment
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and React / Next.js
• Experience working across the full stack (backend, frontend, and basic infrastructure)
• Experience deploying applications to PaaS platforms (Render, Vercel, Railway, etc.)
• Solid understanding of web applications, APIs, and system interactions
• Experience writing tests and handling edge cases
• Experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) as a core part of development workflow
• Ability to independently deliver features end-to-end (from reading the task to deployment)

Soft skills requirements:

• Strong communication skills, especially in async environments
• Fluent or native Russian (team communication is primarily in Russian)
• High ownership and responsibility for delivered work
• Ability to fully understand requirements and ask clarifying questions before implementation
• Self-driven mindset and ability to work without constant supervision
• Attention to detail and ability to deliver complete solutions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output environment

Key responsibilities:

• Develop features across Rails and Next.js (frontend + backend)
• Handle tasks that span multiple layers (backend, frontend, infrastructure)
• Fix bugs and ensure stability of the platform
• Participate in infrastructure improvements and deployment processes
• Implement security improvements and best practices
• Write tests and validate edge cases before QA
• Own tasks end-to-end — from understanding requirements to deployment
• Collaborate with team members (Tech Lead, developer, QA) in async workflow
