Description

The Digital Health organization is a technology team focused on next-generation Digital Health capabilities which deliver on the mission and vision to deliver Insight Driven Care. This role will operate within the Digital Health Applications & Interoperability subgroup of the broader Digital Health team, focused on patient engagement, care coordination, AI, healthcare analytics & interoperability amongst other advanced technologies which enhance our product portfolio with new services, while improving clinical & patient experiences.

Must Have

  • AWS Platform: hands-on experience with AWS data services (especially S3; Glue/Lambda/Athena as a plus)
  • Programming: strong Python development skills with production experience
  • Data Formats: solid experience with JSON, XML, and healthcare messaging formats
  • Healthcare Interoperability: experience with integration engines (Intersystems, Lyniate, Redox, Mirth Connect, etc.)
  • CI/CD: hands-on experience building and maintaining pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Automation & Scripting: Python, PowerShell or similar scripting languages
  • Monitoring & Logging: familiarity with CloudWatch, ELK stack, Dynatrace, Prometheus, or similar
  • Version Control: strong experience with Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub/Gitea)
  • Documentation: experience writing technical documentation in Markdown; Antora is a strong plus

     

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Healthcare, Digital Health, or Medical Device domains
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare data standards including HL7v2, FHIR, and DICOM
  • FHIR and/or HL7 certifications
  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Trino/Starburst
  • Experience building Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions
  • Familiarity with EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
  • Experience implementing enterprise-grade security and privacy-by-design principles
  • Experience developing global-scale applications across distributed environments
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Experience in software estimation and delivery planning

     

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and configure scalable cloud-based solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business requirements
  • Lead healthcare interoperability initiatives involving HL7, FHIR, and enterprise integration platforms
  • Lead API development using AWS services within a scalable, microservices-based architecture
  • Participate in system planning and deployment activities while ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards
  • Identify system functionality and performance gaps; implement enhancements to improve data handling, integrity, transformation workflows, and storage efficiency
  • Define and execute testing strategies to ensure system reliability, performance, and maintainability
  • Document system designs, configurations, testing results, and operational procedures
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and technology vendors
  • Design strategic technology solutions aligned with organizational and customer needs
  • Evaluate standard platform capabilities versus custom solutions to address business requirements
  • Perform system maintenance and performance optimization across supported environments
  • Ensure implementation compliance with global and local regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
