Senior Scala/Java developer (BigData is a plus)

US Company is searching for a Senior Scala/Java developer with BigData skills to join a development team for an enterprise level platforms and services. Interesting project, distributed team, full-time, an official contract. Remote work, flexible schedule (CET business hours).

Brief project description:

• The product is a complex platform with applications realized like SaaS, which perform multiple functions for improving Safety, Sustainability and Productivity (works planning / incident management / monitoring & analytics) on high-risky industries: oil & gas gathering and transportation, chemical, building, energy market.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience building applications with Scala/Java
• Experience with Spark and Delta Lake
• Experience with multithreading in cloud computing environments
• Good understanding of Big Data concepts such as Data Lake and Data Streaming
• Experience with ETL processing, including data ingestion, transformation, and reporting
• Fluent written and spoken English
• It would also be a plus to have experience with the Akka Framework, especially Actor Systems.

Work conditions:

• Distributed team, remote work.
• Scrum approach, 5-7 team members / team.
• Full-time (40 hours per week), CET business hours.

• Step 2 - internal tech interview (tech questions) - 40-50 mins
• Step 3 - tech interview with team leader and architect - 1 hour
