Software Engineer - API/MCP Development

Role Overview

We are a product development team building and evolving our own solutions.
 

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable REST APIs using .NET 8+ / ASP.NET Core, as well as develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that expose product functionality to AI agents and LLM-based workflows.

In this role, you will bridge traditional backend development with modern AI integrations, ensuring that APIs and MCP tools are reliable, secure, and easy to consume for both developers and AI systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs using ASP.NET Core 
• Build and support MCP servers aligned with product requirements 
• Define clear API contracts and MCP tool schemas 
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance of services 
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams 
• Write clear and structured technical documentation 

This is how our perfect candidate’s profile looks like:

• 5+ years of experience with C# / .NET 
• Strong experience with ASP.NET Core Web API 
• Experience with databases (MongoDB, SQL, etc.) 
• Solid understanding of REST API design: versioning, authentication, pagination, and error handling 
• Strong understanding of OpenAPI standards  
• Experience with authentication and authorization 
• Experience with testing 

MCP & AI Tooling

• Understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) specification and its tool/resource/prompt primitives 
• Experience building MCP servers using official SDKs 
• Familiarity with LLM tool-use patterns (function calling, JSON Schema) 
• Ability to design safe and well-scoped MCP tools for AI agents 
• Ability to translate product requirements into API contracts and MCP schemas 
• Strong documentation skills for both developers and AI systems 
• Awareness of security implications when exposing data to AI agents 

Will be a plus:

• Experience with .NET-based MCP server implementations 
• Experience with OData and advanced query API design 
• Frontend experience with TypeScript / React + Redux 
• Experience with SignalR 
• Familiarity with project or portfolio management domains
