Senior Backend Python Engineer (Data Infrastructure)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Python Engineer to help build and scale the core backend infrastructure powering our data platform.

In this role, you will design backend services responsible for processing, transforming, and delivering large volumes of structured data. You will work at the intersection of backend engineering and data infrastructure, building reliable systems that support analytics, intelligent applications, and internal tools.

You will collaborate closely with data engineers, AI engineers, and product teams to ensure backend services are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
 

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Python
• Build scalable systems for data processing and internal APIs
• Design and maintain asynchronous service architectures
• Work with databases to ensure efficient data modeling and query performance
• Improve system reliability through monitoring, logging, and error handling
• Contribute to system architecture and backend best practices
• Optimize services for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
   

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with Python backend development
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend service architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL and advanced SQL queries
• Experience working with asynchronous Python frameworks
• Familiarity with message brokers or event-driven architectures
• Experience working with Docker-based environments
• Understanding of system reliability and backend performance optimization

• Experience building data-heavy backend systems
• Experience with high-throughput services
• Familiarity with distributed systems
• Experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure
• Experience collaborating with data or ML teams
