Full Stack Web Engineer, AI, Node.js

We're looking for a Full Stack Web Engineer who thrives at the intersection of rapid product development and AI-assisted coding.

About the Project

You'll be joining a fast-moving team building an appointment scheduling application for merchants on the Payroll platform. This project is part of a broader initiative to leverage AI tooling to ship simple-to-medium complexity apps quickly and cost-effectively - with plans to replicate this model across verticals including spas, medical offices, dental clinics, golf lessons, and more.

Your Responsibilities:

• Designing and building a merchant-facing appointment scheduling app from the ground up.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code while ensuring proper testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Continuously improve code quality through regular refactoring, debugging, and performance enhancements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to handle critical incidents and maintain system uptime.

Qualifications:

• Solid experience with React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL (5+ years)
• Demonstrated ability to ship production-ready features quickly without sacrificing quality
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) - this is a must, not a nice-to-have
• Strong product sense - you understand what "good enough to ship" looks like
• Nice to have: Ideally you will have worked with AWS in a production environment and understand how to design for, deploy on and get the best out of, the environment and services provided by Amazon.
