Backend Developer (Node.js / Python 3)

Perion is looking for a Backend Developer to join our team and help build and maintain scalable data solutions that power our digital advertising platform. In this role, you will design and develop backend data APIs and work with Big Data technologies to process and analyze massive volumes of data. You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that support data-driven products, business operations, and decision-making across the company’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deploy backend data APIs from research and architecture through development, testing, and production deployment.
• Develop scalable and reliable data-driven solutions to support business and product needs.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, product managers, architects, and other R&D teams.
• Monitor and maintain production systems to ensure high stability, scalability, and performance.
• Work closely with data scientists to support data-driven features and analytical solutions.
• Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and development processes.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Node.js and Python 3.
• Strong experience writing advanced SQL queries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent verbal and written English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kubernetes (K8s).
• Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem.
• Experience with Apache Spark or other Big Data frameworks.
• Experience with Apache Airflow.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, and Athena.
• Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with ClickHouse.
• Familiarity with the AdTech industry and Real-Time Bidding (RTB).
• Experience with Functional Programming, Unit Testing/TDD, and Continuous Deployment practices.
