Senior Python Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join their Informatics team. DNA synthesis at scale requires sophisticated sample tracking, QC assay data management, and production schedule orchestration. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade software that enables automation of a next-generation DNA manufacturing platform.

Responsibilities:

• Rapidly design and build scalable software applications in a cloud-based environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and identify the right technical solutions
• Contribute to a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Apply software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, and automation for building, testing, and deployment
• Troubleshoot production software issues, drive corrective action, identify root causes, and help prevent recurrence
• Ensure data integrity, traceability, accuracy, and security
  
   

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline
• 5+ years of relevant industry software development experience
• Experience deploying and managing full-stack production applications and data pipelines in the cloud
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including peer code review, distributed version control, modern package managers, and CI/CD pipelines
• Fluency in Python and SQL
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
