Senior DevOps Engineer

Project overview

About the project:
You will be working with a few websites in the gaming industry, which are sort of metasearch (affiliate) websites for the gaming industry. Behind these websites, a very sophisticated system is working big data center with a different analytical system of users’ behavior to optimize websites’ work.
They are working using Agile methodology (mixed Scrum) in sprints, Jira is managed by the Scrum master and the Team Lead.
The project is around 13 years old, but there is almost no legacy code; it has already been refactored to new technologies.

Currently, they use classic VPS infrastructure. Expectation from the new DevOps will be to first optimize the infrastructure and server configuration so that users can instantly enjoy a better experience.
Optimize CI CD and Containerization for Deployment and Development to be easy and efficient
After that, they would like to start the migration for cloud-based infrastructure. Either AWS or Google Cloud. They would like to use Docker and Kubernetes. So the new DevOps will have to be the one in charge of in helping improve this infrastructure.
Optize CDN configurations and best use it’s capabilities (we use Claudflare)
Will help set up Claude AI to help with automatic coding

They need experience in working with regular servers since they will need to know how to optimize their Linux servers.

The project is kinda complex from the inside. A newcomer has to be working with a great amount of information, including statistics, calculations, analytics, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience managing infrastructure.
• Strong Linux background: installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux-based environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes (self-managed, EKS, GKE).
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience designing and building high-availability environments.
• Infrastructure automation expertise: Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Zabbix, ELK stack, or similar.
• System administration and general virtualization experience;
• English – B2.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Cloudflare.
• Familiarity with Claude AI.
• It would be a plus to have a Cisco certificate

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting services to application teams looking to build Cloud-based applications;
• Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management systems;
• Perform script updates due to changes in requirements or implementations;
• Design, implement, and improve the monitoring and alerting system;
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with the development team to streamline code deployment;
• Optimize system performance, availability, and scalability;
• Assist in production support;
• Collaborate with team members to improve developed tools, systems, procedures, and data security;
• Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery;
• Participate in developing continuous release and deployment automation flows;
• Automate AWS (and optionally GCP or Azure) resources and infrastructure provisioning;
• Maintain infrastructures and environments of all types from dev to production;
• Security monitoring and administration.
