We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join a team building core capabilities for a large-scale cloud data platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data lakehouse components and related platform integrations.
• Contribute to support for complex data types, metadata-driven functionality, and distributed processing features.
• Work hands-on on integrations related to storage, security, encryption, and data governance.
• Develop and improve batch and streaming data processing capabilities.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical planning, and blocker resolution.
• Collaborate with internal and external engineering stakeholders on technical alignment and dependencies.
• Ensure code quality, integration testing, documentation, and timely delivery of features.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-time, hands-on professional software development experience.
• Strong production experience with Apache Iceberg.
• Solid experience with Spark and Flink in production systems.
• Strong hands-on coding skills in Java and Python.
• Experience with large-scale cloud data platforms, distributed data systems, or lakehouse/data infrastructure environments.
• Good understanding of data formats, integrations, serialization, and execution patterns in modern data platforms.
• Ability to work independently in a senior hands-on role while contributing to technical discussions and team coordination.

Nice to have:

• Experience with metadata/catalog integrations and advanced table-format functionality.
• Experience with encryption, governance, or security-related platform integrations.
• Experience contributing to or collaborating with open-source communities.
• Experience working across cross-team technical dependencies in complex platform environments.

Overlap: daily partial overlap with PST working hours.
