Software Engineering Team Lead (Node.js / React / AWS) to $4300

Hi there! 👋 At Emilus, in partnership with a global consulting enterprise, we are looking for a Software Engineering Team Lead.
 

About the project: You will join the Short Form Video Tooling team. We are building an internal tool for editorial teams that integrates into a broader company ecosystem to scale short-form video content. The websites and services we work on are used by millions of people every single day.
 

Your Role (Hybrid: Tech + People Management): This is a role for a leader who thrives on both building robust architecture and developing people. Your focus will be split across two main streams:

👨‍💻 People & Environment:

• Manage a team of 3-6 engineers (goal setting, performance reviews, 1-on-1s, mentoring).
• Drive hiring and foster a healthy, diverse, and inclusive team culture.
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and Delivery stakeholders.
• Facilitate Agile processes and encourage a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

⚙️ Technical Expertise:

• Design and develop high-level architectural solutions (Core stack: Node.js, React, Cloud environments).
• Champion engineering best practices: TDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Support the team with prioritization, backlog management, and technical workflows.
• Collaborate with the broader technical community to improve software standards and practices.
  
   

Who we are looking for:

• Proven experience guiding cross-functional Agile software teams with a strong focus on mentoring and coaching.
• Solid technical background: experience designing and supporting robust, large-scale web applications with rapid release cycles (Node.js + React).
• Hands-on approach to quality: TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Delivery.
• Experience managing multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders in a complex matrix environment.
• Ability to translate complex tech solutions into clear language for different audiences.
• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher for daily communication.
• Big plus: Basic understanding of Machine Learning or a strong learning ethic to pick it up.
