Senior Kafka Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Kafka Software Engineer (Competence Level B) to join our technical team. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a mature consultant who can navigate the complexities of event-driven architectures while ensuring the stability of our mission-critical messaging platform.

We are looking for a practitioner who understands that "platform stability" is a result of both proactive administration and expert troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Reliability: Maintain and monitor the Kafka platform to ensure peak performance and 24/7 reliability.
• Administration: Handle core Kafka tasks including topic management, advanced configurations, and granular access control.
• Expert Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support to development teams, acting as the final point of escalation for complex incidents.
• Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, message flow interruptions, and cluster health issues.
• Advisory: Act as a consultant to internal users, guiding them on Kafka best practices, schema evolution, and optimal configurations.
• Documentation: Maintain high-quality technical documentation for platform architecture and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Skillset & Profile

• Confluent Kafka Mastery: Must have deep, hands-on experience specifically with the Confluent distribution.
• Architectural Fluency: Deep understanding of event-driven and streaming architectures (Pub/Sub, Event Sourcing, KSQL, etc.).
• Problem Solver: "Consulting-level" troubleshooting skills—you don't just find the bug; you understand the systemic impact.
• Communication: Ability to guide and lead others, translating complex technical hurdles into actionable advice for developers and stakeholders.
• You should have 4–6 years of specific experience in this area and the ability to solve complex architectural problems.
