We are currently looking for a strong Java Engineer to join a US-based project in the FinTech space. The platform focuses on monitoring financial market activity, detecting suspicious behavior, and helping organizations ensure transparency and regulatory compliance across financial systems. The product processes extremely large volumes of data and events in real time. 

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer with strong experience in data pipelines and database-heavy systems. The engineer will work on backend services and data processing infrastructure responsible for handling extremely large volumes of events and financial data.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who can independently design and architect scalable data processing systems and pipelines.

Responsibilities
• Design and develop backend services using Java
• Architect and implement scalable data pipelines and data processing workflows
• Work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data
• Design reliable data models and database interactions
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of high-load systems
• Participate in architecture and technical decision-making

Requirements
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Java backend development experience
• Experience designing and building data pipelines and large-scale data processing systems
• Strong experience with SQL and database design
• Experience working with ETL processes and data transformation pipelines
• Understanding of distributed systems and high-load architectures
• Experience working with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, or Airflow is highly desirable
 

Nice to have
• Experience with streaming or event-driven systems
• Experience with cloud environments
• FinTech or high-scale data platform experience
