🏢 About the Project

Our client is creating a cross-platform application at an early-stage startup. The project includes a Next.js web application and a React Native Expo mobile app (iOS and Android), developed simultaneously using a shared codebase to maximize efficiency. They follow a “write once, run everywhere” approach, leveraging shared logic and UI components across both platforms.

As a startup, tasks are often high-level or loosely defined, so the ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership, clarifying requirements, making reasonable assumptions, and working independently without extensive mentoring.

Frontend:

• React Native (Expo) — mobile app for iOS and Android
• Next.js — web application
• Tamagui UI — reusable cross-platform UI components

Backend:

• Node.js (Express) — REST API
• Swagger — API documentation

Database & Storage:

• MongoDB
• Redis (optional)
• Google Cloud Storage

Language:

🛠 Responsibilities

• Develop shared, reusable frontend components for web and mobile apps using React Native and a write-once approach
• Build consistent cross-platform UI components with Tamagui
• Develop and maintain REST API endpoints with Node.js and Express
• Write clean, scalable, and type-safe TypeScript code
• Optimize performance and cross-platform compatibility
• Take ownership of loosely defined tasks, clarify requirements proactively, propose solutions, and execute independently
   

✅ Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

• 2+ years of full-stack development experience with strong expertise in React Native and Expo

Frontend:

• Strong React Native and Expo skills for cross-platform mobile apps
• Experience with Next.js
• Experience building reusable UI components with Tamagui or similar libraries
• Familiarity with shared codebases and write-once approaches

Backend:

• Experience developing REST APIs with Node.js and Express

Database:

• Hands-on experience with MongoDB

Languages & Tools:

• Strong TypeScript skills
• Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows

Startup Mindset:

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Able to interpret high-level requirements and work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset
• Writes clean, maintainable code and adapts quickly to changing priorities
