Senior Backend Java Developer

US Company is searching for a Senior Backend Java Developer with strong experience in developing and maintaining enterprise microservices-based platforms. Interesting long-term project (3+ years), distributed team, full-time, official contract. Remote work, European business hours.
 

Brief project description:
The platform is a set of microservices deployed on cloud infrastructure and partially - legacy code, supporting core business processes in delivery service across Europe. The role focuses on performance, security, maintainability, and implementing new features in a high-availability production environment.

Main Requirements:

• Strong experience in building scalable microservices: 8+ years
• Solid understanding of event-driven systems and API design
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Knowledge of cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, OpenShift)
• Ownership of assigned modules and code quality

Tech Skills:

• Microservices architecture, REST APIs, message brokers
• Refactoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting production issues
• Writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Security best practices for backend services

Programming Languages & Frameworks:

• Java 8–21: 8+ years
• Spring Boot / Quarkus: 8+ years
• SQL (PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra): 7+ years
• RabbitMQ, Kafka: 5+ years

Work conditions:

• Distributed team, remote work
• Scrum approach, 5–6 team members / team
• Full-time (40 hours per week), European business hours
