Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Focused) to $6500

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend-focused) to design and build secure, scalable services for a new access control and authentication layer.

The role is primarily focused on backend architecture and API development, with occasional contributions to the React-based frontend.

You will be responsible for building core backend services such as the Okta Wrapper/Gateway, credential bridging logic, and the Global Registry of Trials service, ensuring high standards of security, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement core backend logic for the Okta Wrapper/Gateway, including authentication and policy enforcement
• Build a secure credential bridging service for controlled login and session orchestration into InForm
• Develop the Global Registry of Trials service and APIs
• Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and high-performance
• Build and maintain REST APIs
• Contribute to React-based frontend components when required
• Integrate backend services with enterprise systems and external platforms
• Write technical design documentation for new services and features
• Maintain high code quality, testing standards, and production readiness

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus
• Strong experience with Node.js (Express) or Python (FastAPI)
• Experience building scalable backend services and APIs
• Experience with React
• Solid knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience integrating authentication systems (Okta or similar)
• Strong understanding of security, access control, and system integrations
• Experience designing high-availability, scalable systems
• English level C1+
