Automation QA Engineer (Data-Focused)

🚀 About the Project

We are looking for an Automation QA Engineer to join a rapidly scaling startup working on a large-scale data platform. The product operates with massive datasets, complex ETL pipelines, and high-performance backend services. This role is ideal for a QA engineer who enjoys working beyond UI automation — focusing on data validation, integrity, and performance testing in data-driven systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and quality of data processing across the entire platform.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for data-driven applications
• Perform data quality testing, validating accuracy and integrity across large datasets
• Create automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Python-based tools
• Validate ETL processes and data transformations to ensure correctness and consistency
• Collaborate closely with backend and data engineers to define quality standards
• Conduct performance testing to verify system efficiency and scalability

• Identify bottlenecks in data processing and contribute to continuous quality improvements.

   

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in automation testing for data-heavy applications
• Strong SQL skills (writing complex queries for validation and data verification)
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, or similar)
• Solid understanding of data integrity principles and ETL workflows
• Experience with performance testing and system efficiency validation
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail

• English level: Upper Intermediate+

   

Nice to Have:

• Experience testing cloud-based systems (Azure preferred)
• Familiarity with backend APIs and service-level testing

• Experience working in startup or fast-paced product environments
