Middle/Senior Full Stack Engineer (React / Node.js) for UK Telecom

In partnership with a global consulting company, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a newly formed SFV (Short Form Video) Tooling team.

About the client & project: The client is a prominent UK-based telecommunication company. You will help shape and build a brand-new tooling service used by editorial staff across the company to create, manage, and distribute short-form content. The Stack: The front-end is a React-based web app, and the back-end relies heavily on Node.js and TypeScript.

What you will do (Main Responsibilities):

• Lead the design and development of software that meets complex product and business needs.
• Build high-quality features across the stack (React, Node.js, TypeScript).
• Write appropriate automated tests using TDD techniques to ensure code quality and coverage.
• Work closely with project, product, and tech leads to translate requirements into implementable specifications and tasks.
• Integrate software with monitoring/support tools and ensure it works flawlessly in its operating environment.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident resolution (including occasional out-of-hours support).
• Champion Agile methodologies, driving continuous delivery, code reviews, pairing, and high-quality technical documentation.
• Collaborate with third-party providers, offering technical direction and support when necessary.

What we expect (Essential Skills):

• Extensive experience writing and maintaining large-scale, robust production software in fast-paced environments with rapid release cycles.
• Strong hands-on competence in:
  • React
  • Node.js
  • TypeScript
• Deep expertise in web architecture, database design, and CI/CD toolchains.
• Strong background in TDD, QA concerns, and developing for non-functional requirements (performance, scaling, security, resilience, monitoring).
• Experience with AWS and CodeBuild pipelines.
• Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills—ability to speak up, challenge constructively, agree, and commit within a cross-functional Agile team.
• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher for seamless communication with stakeholders and the UK team.

Will be a big plus (Desirable Skills):

• Experience mentoring and supporting less experienced team members.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects or codebases concurrently.
