Middle/Senior Node.js Engineer for UK Telecom

In partnership with a global consulting company, we are looking for a skilled Node.js Engineer to join our team.

About the project: You will be working with a major UK-based telecommunication company. The role involves working with a modern Serverless infrastructure, focusing heavily on code quality (TDD, CI/CD), and participating in the full product life cycle.

What you will do (Roles & Responsibilities):

• Develop robust, high-quality software that meets given business specifications.
• Deploy and manage backend applications using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Participate in the team's Agile planning, continuous delivery, and software development methodologies (including pairing and code reviews).
• Write automated tests using TDD techniques to ensure code quality.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeBuild and integrate software with monitoring/support tools.
• Write and review technical documentation.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve issues across the product life cycle (including occasional out-of-hours support for incident resolution).

What we expect (Essential Skills):

• Proven experience delivering backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript in production environments.
• Strong competence in TDD (Test-Driven Development) and broader QA/testing concerns.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically:
  • Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK
  • AWS Lambda
  • SNS & SQS
  • API Gateway
• Solid experience with professional software development processes and working in Agile environments.
• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher for daily communication with the UK-based team.

Will be a big plus (Desirable Skills):

• Familiarity with event-based architectures and microservices environments.
• Experience with databases: DynamoDB and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience building Operational Alarms based on CloudWatch metrics and Grafana availability tooling.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and using GitHub actions with AWS CodeBuild self-hosted runners.
