Senior Java Backend Developer with AWS (IRC289955)

Job Description

Strong proficiency in Java (5+ years), including core language features, JVM internals, memory management, and performance optimization
Solid experience with enterprise Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, or equivalent)
Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services
Strong understanding of clean code principles and best practices (SOLID, DRY, KISS)
Experience writing unit and integration tests
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
Experience using Git for version control
Experience with containerization tools such as Docker
Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle

Ability to work effectively within complex, distributed software ecosystems
Good spoken and written English
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Preferred:
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Strong software design and decomposition skills
Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and modular software architectures

Nice-to-have skills:
Experience with TypeScript and Node.js
Experience with Android application development
Experience working with IoT, smart home, or connected device ecosystems
 

Job Responsibilities

Design and develop new voice-controlled features and extensions for smart assistant platforms
Implement backend services that enable content access, reading, and control across connected devices
Integrate new features with existing device ecosystems and libraries, ensuring reliable communication between devices
Ensure high code quality through testing, documentation, and adherence to clean code principles
Optimize performance and scalability of voice-interaction and content-management services
Troubleshoot and resolve integration and runtime issues in multi-device environments
 

Department/Project Description

The department focuses on developing solutions in network connectivity and IoT devices for one of the top-5 market leaders. The team works on projects that enable interaction between smart home devices by creating libraries that allow one device to control another. The current project involves building a versatile library for voice-operated control, enabling content to be accessed or read on one device through another, with a strong focus on clean architecture, scalability, and seamless integration within complex software ecosystems.
