AI Engineering Lead

Our customer is looking for an AI Change Maker to lead modern engineering practices and AI-driven workflows in a high-impact fintech company. 

This is a role for someone who leads from the front — in the code, in architecture discussions, and in how high-performing teams operate. Our customer within Fintech is looking for an AI Lead in Lviv(hybrid setup). 

Your role is to be the technical and AI-driving right hand for the organization: raising the bar for engineering practices, unblocking the team when requirements are unclear, and helping everyone get significantly more out of AI in their daily work. 

Lead and coach a development team in using AI to dramatically increase delivery speed and code quality. 

Use AI hands‑on to build software and help engineers get better at writing with AI. 

Partner with OurCustomer’s CTO on architecture, process, and AI strategy

About the team:

- The core team for this role is located in Lviv. - 5–10 engineers/developers

Must-haves:

- Strong experience with AI programming and using AI to develop software/code. 

- Excellent communication skills, able to make engineers passionate about AI and clearly communicate requirements. 

- Strong TypeScript skills and knowledge of distributed systems. 

- Can lead as a 10–20 engineers and lift others. 

- Agentic programming 

- Cloud-based architecture and CI/CD pipelines 

- Trunk-based development and frequent releases 

- Test-driven and regression-driven development 

- Experience with monorepo or multi-repo setups

Other requirements:

- Financial background /fintech is a plus. 

- Location: Lviv. 

- A hybrid setup is possible.
