Senior/Lead AQA to $4200

Required: 
We are expanding our QA efforts and are looking to bring on an external QA engineer to own quality assurance across our backend and web platforms.
This is not a checkbox QA role. You will be responsible for defining and maintaining our QA process, performing both manual and automated testing, and formally signing off on releases.

Project Overview
It is a Houston-based manufacturer of asset-tracking devices and telematics-enabled AI dashcams. All engineering and manufacturing take place in our Houston facility. We are well known in the telematics industry for building extremely reliable products and for supporting over 34,000 make-model-year vehicle combinations, in addition to construction and heavy equipment.
Our devices are truly plug-and-play and operate across light-duty, heavy-duty, and yellow-iron vehicles without special configuration.

Requirements (Must-have):
• English: Upper-intermediate 
• C# / .NET 8
• TypeScript, React, Angular
• Azure Functions and Azure App Fabric
• Azure Storage
• MongoDB
• SignalR
• REST and real-time APIs
• Web-based management portals and device-facing services
 

QA skills and tooling we are looking for:

You do not need experience in all of these, but strong candidates should be comfortable owning QA on production systems and building automation from the ground up.

API and backend testing:
• Karate
• Postman / Newman
• REST Assured
• Playwright API testing
• Pact (contract testing)

Web and UI automation:
• Playwright or Cypress (preferred)
• Selenium (acceptable if you’ve owned large test suites)

Test frameworks and practices:
• xUnit / NUnit / MSTest
• CI-integrated automated testing
• Regression and smoke test design
• Load and stress testing experience is a plus (k6, JMeter, Locust)

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming commits and features from the backend team
• Execute functional, regression, and integration testing in QA and production
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites
• Build and enforce release sign-off procedures
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and bug reports
• Work closely with engineers to reproduce issues and validate fixes
• Help mature our QA pipeline over time (coverage, tooling, metrics, CI integration)
