Middle DevOps engineer (IRC288478)

We are a cross-functional international team collaborating across the globe on a major insurance product with integrated e-billing functionality.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, automating, and maintaining our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate has experience with modern infrastructure-as-code tools, cloud-native technologies, and a passion for scalability, security, and performance.

Job Description

• 3-4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure and automation.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.) and automation frameworks.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managing cloud-based services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
• Proficient with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Understanding of security practices related to DevOps, including securing pipelines, infrastructure, and deployments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Ability to collaborate with development teams to integrate new technologies and tools to improve the development lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, and how DevOps integrates with these frameworks.
   

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automating software delivery, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are optimized for deployment on cloud platforms (AWS) or on-premise infrastructure.
• Manage and monitor cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure the health and performance of systems.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices in securing infrastructure, application deployments, and environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, monitor system performance, and ensure uptime of applications in both development and production environments.
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Drive automation and implement DevOps best practices to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks, improving scalability, and implementing performance monitoring strategies.
• Lead or assist in disaster recovery planning and ensure infrastructure resilience across multiple environments.
• Support the continuous improvement of DevOps processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.
