C++ / Robotics Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a C++ / Robotics Engineer to take ownership of core robotics and perception-driven control systems within BabAI.

You will design, implement, and optimize real-time systems that connect AI detection pipelines with robotic behavior and embedded hardware. This role requires strong system-level thinking, performance awareness, and the ability to make systems work reliably outside the lab.

What you will do

• Architect and develop high-performance C++ systems for robotics and perception
• Integrate AI detection and tracking pipelines into real-time control loops
• Design low-latency, fault-tolerant communication between system components
• Work directly with embedded platforms and sensors
• Lead debugging and performance optimization efforts on edge devices
• Define coding standards, architecture decisions, and technical direction
• Support field testing and production deployment
• Mentor junior engineers

What we are looking for

• Strong modern C++ (C++17/20) experience in production systems
• Proven background in robotics, embedded systems, or real-time software
• Deep understanding of Linux, concurrency, memory, and performance tuning
• Experience working close to hardware and solving low-level issues
• Ability to design robust systems under real-world constraints
• Independent problem solver with ownership mindset

Nice to have

• ROS / ROS2 in production environments
• Experience with UAVs, autonomous vehicles, or aerospace systems
• Embedded AI acceleration experience (Jetson, Hailo, FPGA, etc.)
• Sensor fusion and calibration experience
• Safety-critical or mission-critical system background
