Middle Manual QA Engineer
Description
Our client is a big medical equipment manufacturer located in the United States. We have completed a lot of projects for them during the last 15 years and continue our strong relationships. We are creating software information systems providing management and reporting capabilities for customer equipment in the field. Currently, we are extending our team to be able to start new generation projects and looking for eager test engineers who want to quickly grow in the technology stack.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of testing methodology, practices, tools, and test documentation;
- Good experience in the SDLC;
- Experience in Mobile and Web Testing;
- Experience in different types of manual testing;
- Technical skills (OS administration: Windows, iOS, Android; OS tools, etc.);
- Good communication skills;
- Flexibility and willingness to project changes;
- Initiativeness and motivation.
- Intermediate (or higher) level of English: good reading and writing skills, ability to communicate verbally.
Job responsibilities
Software Requirements
- Product requirements verification and analysis;
- Detailed acceptance criteria creation in the following format:

Test Design
- Creation of detailed test cases with preconditions, required data set and several pairs of steps to reproduce/expected results, using classical test design approaches and techniques:
- Equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis;
- Decision tables;
- Pairwise testing;
- Error guessing.
- Creation of short, simplified checklists in the following format:
- Verify that the application is able to ;
- Verify that the user is able to .
- Creation of a requirements traceability matrix.
Defects Tracking
- Experience with defect tracking systems;
- Writing bug reports as a result of testing activities.
Testing/Verification
- Manual execution of test cases and checklists with objective evidence collection;
- Manual ad-hoc functional testing of mobile applications;
- Manual OS compatibility testing of mobile applications;
- Manual installation testing of mobile applications;
- Manual backward compatibility testing of mobile applications;
- Manual localization testing of mobile applications;
- Manual fault injection testing of mobile applications (basic flows);
- Manual ad-hoc functional testing of web application;
- Manual backward compatibility testing of web application;
- Manual localization testing of web application;
- Manual fault injection testing of web application (basic flows);
- Verification of bug fixes/regression testing (regression analysis);
- Experience with the Fiddler HTTP/HTTPS web-debugging proxy tool is preferred.
Communication
- Communication means used: Jira, Jama, Figma, TestRail, SharePoint, Confluence. Experience with the listed tools is preferred;
- In case of disputes or inconsistencies, the candidate should be able to communicate with several development teams, the testing team, and the client team and document the agreements reached;
- Provide status reports to the QA Lead;
- With good experience in the SDLC, the candidate should be able to suggest improvements to team practices and approaches.
