Profile overview
We’re looking for a Strong Middle DevOps Engineer to join Keyword.com and help us level up our infrastructure and delivery practices.
This is not a “keep the lights on” role. You’ll be joining a high-scale, real-world environment where the goal is to simplify, standardize, and make our platform boringly reliable — while moving fast and learning a lot.
We’re explicitly looking for A-players: people who enjoy hard problems, take ownership, aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo, and want to grow into broader platform leadership over time.
Our stack: ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes (AWS & Hetzner), Terraform, Ansible, RabbitMQ, Redis, Kafka connect, Debezium (MariaDB → ClickHouse), Infisical.
What you’ll achieve in your first 3–6 months
- Assist in executing a pragmatic roadmap to move us from a scattered landscape toward a unified, high-performance single-cloud setup
- Refactor and modularize Terraform/Ansible patterns so the engineering team can deploy safely without hand-holding
- Fine-tune our GitOps and CI/CD reliability until deployments are fast, predictable, and "boring"
Your responsibilities
- Kubernetes & Platform Operations: Own day-to-day reliability and improvements across our clusters (troubleshooting, scaling, hardening, upgrades)
- Cloud Consolidation Execution: Support and execute parts of our migration/consolidation plan with careful risk management
- Developer Enablement: Build and maintain templates, tooling, documentation, and workflows that let developers self-serve safely
- IaC Quality & Automation: Improve and modularize Terraform and Ansible to reduce drift, eliminate manual steps, and enable safe rollouts
- Reliability Engineering: Improve monitoring, alerting, incident response patterns, and operational discipline
What you bring to the table
- Solid hands-on experience running production Kubernetes and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure
- Experience with GitOps (ArgoCD or similar) and modern CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Good working knowledge of Terraform (modules, state, rollouts) and automation tooling (Ansible and/or scripting)
- Understanding of cloud fundamentals: networking, IAM/security, storage, compute, and common distributed failure modes
- A builder mindset: you like making systems simpler, safer, and repeatable
- Strong ownership: you take problems from “unclear and messy” to “fixed and documented”
- Comfortable collaborating async (Slack/GitHub) with good level of English
Note on the use of AI
We’re AI enthusiasts and use it daily (Claude Team Premium, ChatGPT Enterprise, Gemini Enterprise). But we’re not “vibe coders”. We use AI thoughtfully — and we take everything that lands in our repositories seriously. Regardless of where code comes from, the engineer is responsible for it.
What’s in it for you
- Ultimate flexibility: We’re remote-first
- Freedom and autonomy: High trust, high ownership, and the space to do your best work
- Real impact: You’ll own a mission-critical area and directly shape the product’s future
- Small, senior team: Work closely with developers and stakeholders; move quickly and ship meaningful improvements
