As we prepare to launch and maintain the application, we are looking for an experienced engineer to play a key role in this process and contribute to a growing, fast-paced company environment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a talented DevOps engineer to design, implement, and maintain the cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines that support the UN1Q platform. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, security, scalability, and performance across environments, primarily on AWS.
You will be part of a collaborative team and use your strong communication skills to work closely with backend, frontend, and product colleagues across different areas of the business. This role offers the chance to contribute to both product delivery and the company culture within a dynamic startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
- Support and evolve CI/CD pipelines for backend and mobile applications with the use of GitHub Actions.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of production and non-production environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and costs, and proactively address issues.
- Implement infrastructure as code, and automation practices.
- Work closely with engineers and the Head of Technology to support deployments, releases, and stability of several environments.
- Own the setup, maintenance, and operational reliability of multiple parallel API versions, enabling safe iteration and continuous delivery across stages.
- Manage and improve security practices, access control, secrets, and compliance.
- Assist in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Write clear, concise documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (e.g. EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with infrastructure and CI/CD considerations for mobile applications (e.g. build pipelines, environment separation, release workflows).
- Strong Linux system administration experience.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a commitment to building reliable and maintainable systems
- Strong communication skills in fluent English language, and a proven track record of working both independently and collaboratively with multiple teams.
The following will be considered an advantage:
- Experience supporting backend systems built with PHP/Laravel in general, and Vapor in particular.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-scaling environments.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS) in both staging and production.
- Experience working within an Agile framework.
- Interest in or experience with athletics, health, or medical-related products.

- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Significant working hours overlap with the GMT+1 timezone.
