Mobile QA Engineer with Japanese language skills

On behalf of our Client from Japan, Mobilunity is looking for a Mobile QA Engineer.

Our Client provides a mobile application that delivers multilingual, easy-to-use informational guides to a global audience, with a strong focus on usability and performance in emerging markets. They are seeking a skilled Mobile QA Tester to help ensure a seamless user experience across diverse devices, especially low-spec smartphones common in Africa.

As a Mobile QA Tester, you will be responsible for testing their mobile app across multiple devices and OS versions to ensure high-quality performance, usability, and localization accuracy. Your work will directly impact product stability and user satisfaction, particularly in markets where device limitations and language adaptability are key success factors.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, execute, and document mobile testing across Android and iOS devices
• Test app features thoroughly for functionality, UI/UX, performance, and localization
• Validate the app on low-spec devices typical to African and emerging markets
• Identify, report, and help track bugs using a bug tracking system (e.g., Jira, Trello)
• Perform localization and language testing, especially for Japanese (JP) and English (EN) content

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in mobile app testing (Android and/or iOS)
• Ability to read/understand Japanese (JP) – helps with localization verification
• Strong experience with manual testing; automation experience is a plus
• Comfortable testing on low-spec devices (memory/CPU constrained; older OS versions)
• Clear and professional communication in English
