Pixelview.io

Go Developer (WebRTC/FFmpeg)

Hi!

We're looking for a Go Developer for a project-based engagement (1–2 months) to help us build and improve our video streaming engine. There’s potential to continue afterward if it’s a good fit.

About us:
We're a small, bootstrapped company building Pixelview.io - a streaming video solution for video professionals. Our stack includes a Go-based streaming engine and a Python (FastAPI) backend. You’d work directly with me on shipping core streaming functionality. We are also building a completely new product from scratch that you will be part of building the MVP for.

What you’ll work on:
- Go services for real-time video streaming

- FFMPEG recordings
- WebRTC using Pion
- Integrations with FFmpeg (transcoding/packaging/processing)
- Performance and reliability work (latency, reconnects, resource usage)
- Optional: backend endpoints / orchestration in FastAPI (Python)

What we’re looking for:
- Strong Go experience
- Practical WebRTC knowledge (Pion preferred)
- Comfortable working with FFmpeg in production contexts
- Bonus: experience with Python/FastAPI
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- GitHub required (please include your profile and 1–3 relevant repos)

How we work:
- AI-first: We use AI agents for code review and productivity and expect you to embrace this way of working
- Remote & async: Minimal meetings, mostly text-based communication
- Autonomy: We give you tasks and trust you to deliver; you’ll have input on technical decisions
- Flexibility: Work on your own schedule and manage your own time
Interested?

Send your GitHub, a short note about relevant streaming/WebRTC/FFmpeg work, and your availability for the next 1–2 months
