Senior Automation QA Engineer

Our client is looking for a talented Automation QA Engineer to join their US-based team for full-time involvement. This role will play a key part in elevating the overall quality standards of the product. The ideal candidate has a strong development background, which is essential to be effective in this environment.

This person will be responsible for building and owning the automation testing environment, automating regression tests, and mentoring the manual QA team in writing and maintaining automated regression tests.

More specifically, as an Automation QA Engineer, you will:

  • Set up and maintain the automation testing environment;

  • Automate regression tests and train the manual team to write and maintain regression tests;

  • Manage the entire testing lifecycle, including test case creation and automation;

  • Validate product changes primarily by developing, executing, and maintaining automated UI, API, and backend service tests;

  • Perform API testing and verification as part of the overall test strategy;

  • Work closely with the development team within a test-driven development (TDD) methodology;

  • Find, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution;

  • Actively participate in refinement sessions, planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Automation QA Engineer;

  • Development background and mindset;

  • Hands-on experience building test automation using Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript;

  • Solid experience with API testing and verification;

  • Familiarity with test-driven development methodologies;

  • Ability to analyze and interpret test results, identify issues, and clearly communicate findings to the development team;

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with meticulous attention to detail;

  • Upper-intermediate level of English (B2 or higher);

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment;

  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of initiatives, and deliver high-quality results on time.
