Founding Full-Stack Engineer (UI/UX and Platform Focus)

Location: Fully Remote (Company based in Austria, CEST time zone friendly)
Engagement: Flexible — Contract, Freelance, Full-time, or Part-time. We are open to discussing the arrangement that works best for you and the project.

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and engagement type. Equity/option package is available for a long-term commitment.

Mission: Build adaptive digital infrastructure for the social sector. Translate deep-tech innovation into intuitive, impactful products that help social organizations manage uncertainty and coordinate community resources.

The Role: As our first technical hire, you will architect and build the user-facing platform for in-kind. You will own the development of our Progressive Web App (PWA), turning our backend methodology for adaptive process management into a compelling, reliable tool used daily by social organizations and donors. Your work directly bridges our vision with user adoption.

You Will:

• Lead Frontend & PWA Development: Build our primary application using a modern framework (React/Vue.js with TypeScript), ensuring it is a high-quality, installable PWA that works reliably across devices.
• Architect Full-Stack Features: Design and implement end-to-end features — from the Django backend models and APIs to the frontend components and state management.
• Establish Foundation: Set up core development practices (CI/CD, containerization, cloud deployment), a reusable UI component library, and advocate for UI/UX excellence as we scale.

• Collaborate & Shape: Work directly with the co-founders to translate product strategy into technical execution, contributing key insights on feasibility, user experience, and platform architecture.

   

What You Bring (Our Tech Stack & Needs):

• Strong proficiency in Python/Django for backend development.
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (React or Vue.js), with a keen eye for UI/UX.
• Proven experience building and troubleshooting Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
• Solid experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud deployment (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs and service-oriented architecture.
• English proficiency is mandatory.

• A plus: Interest or experience in event-driven systems (Kafka), knowledge representation, federated data architectures or privacy-preserving computing.
