Role overview

The Web Developer is responsible for building high-performance, secure, and scalable websites using custom code. The role focuses on developing tailored web solutions rather than template-based platforms. The developer works closely with designers, marketers, and project managers to turn business requirements into fully functional digital products.
 

Key responsibilities

• Develop websites and web applications using custom-written code.
• Build responsive, cross-browser, and mobile-first interfaces.
• Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Develop back-end functionality using appropriate server-side technologies.
• Integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services.
• Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO structure.
• Ensure security best practices in web development.
• Debug, test, and maintain existing websites and systems.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement pixel-accurate designs.
• Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.

Required skills and qualifications

• Strong experience in custom web development without reliance on templates or page builders.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with at least one back-end language such as PHP, Python, Node.js, or similar.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of website performance optimization and SEO fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern frameworks or libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience with headless CMS or custom CMS development.
• Familiarity with DevOps basics, CI/CD, and server management.
• Experience in building high-load or scalable systems.
