Software Engineer Team Lead
Platform Migration Team | UK-based Telecommunication Company
We are partnering with a global consulting company to find a Software Engineer Team Lead for a UK-based telecommunication client. You will join the Platform Migration Team and help drive the development of scalable, high-quality software while supporting and guiding the engineering team.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the development of software that solves complex product and business challenges.
- Reviewing code and providing constructive feedback to maintain high standards and support team growth.
- Writing high-quality, production-ready code and ensuring team goals are delivered successfully.
- Integrating software with monitoring and support tools to ensure smooth operations.
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining clear technical documentation.
- Participating in and occasionally leading agile ceremonies, including planning, delivery, and retrospectives.
- Working closely with architects, delivery, and technical leads to design solutions and break them down into clear, implementable tasks.
- Contributing to test frameworks to validate both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Communicating progress, risks, and issues to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Mediating between teams and individuals to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
What we’re looking for (Essential)
- Strong experience with test-driven development and a deep understanding of testing and QA practices.
- Solid knowledge of operational aspects such as monitoring, performance testing, scaling, availability, resilience, and security.
- Ability to translate product requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent software development skills with experience building highly scalable applications.
- Hands-on experience with NodeJS / Typescript.
- Experience with AWS services, including:
- Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK
- Lambda
- SNS & SQS
- API Gateway
Nice to have (Desirable)
- Experience with Dynamo DB and Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Building operational alarms based on CloudWatch metrics.
- Implementing CI/CD pipelines, including:
- GitHub Actions using AWS CodeBuild self-hosted runners.
- Experience with Grafana availability tooling.
- Familiarity with event-based architectures and microservices environments.
