Senior Back End Java Developer

Averian is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the team developing a large-scale, customer-facing enterprise platform designed to deliver high-performance, reliable, and mission-critical software solutions for global clients. The platform focuses on advanced Java API development, system performance optimization, and efficient Hibernate/PostgreSQL data processing to support real-world production environments where accuracy and stability truly matter.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop high-performance Java backend services and customer-facing APIs for a large-scale enterprise platform.
• Optimize system performance with focus on Hibernate tuning, PostgreSQL query optimization, and transaction efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across the backend stack in production environments.
• Сollaborate closely with frontend teams (Next.js) to support end-to-end customer workflows.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architecture discussions, and implementation of best practices.
• Mentor team members and help drive improvements in development quality, speed, and engineering standards.
• Support and accelerate migration and modernization efforts of legacy Java systems.

SKILLS

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong focus on Java.
• Extensive experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade Java APIs.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Hibernate performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization and schema design.
• Solid understanding of backend performance, concurrency, and scalability.
• Experience working with modern frontend-backend integrations (e.g. Next.js).
• BSc in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Upper-Intermediate level of English.
