Blockchain Engineer

We are hiring a Blockchain Engineer for one of our clients in the U.S. The company is building a privacy-first blockchain platform that enables businesses to securely automate internal processes and data exchange across teams using decentralized technology. Their solution provides a controlled environment for sensitive transactional data, allowing organizations to manage selective access, verify operations, and maintain traceability without compromising confidentiality.

The platform is built on a permissioned Ethereum network and is designed to support private transactions, isolated privacy groups, and cross-team workflows that require both transparency and discretion. It enables teams to collaborate through secure, verifiable processes while keeping critical business data protected and compliant.

As a Blockchain Engineer, you will be responsible for building and evolving this permissioned blockchain infrastructure using Hyperledger Besu with Tessera for private transaction management. The system will support privacy groups for isolated operations and optional anchoring to a public Layer 1 blockchain, allowing verifiable checkpoints without exposing private payloads. You will work closely with product, backend, and infrastructure teams to deliver a scalable and reliable blockchain foundation.

Key Responsibilities

Blockchain Development

• Design, deploy, and maintain a Hyperledger Besu-based network

• Configure Tessera for privacy groups and private transaction flows

• Implement anchoring and checkpointing logic to public Ethereum

• Support selective data sharing between isolated teams

• Ensure network stability, performance, and scalability

Smart Contracts

• Develop and optimize Solidity smart contracts for transactional workflows

• Implement privacy-aware and permissioned contract logic

• Support contract upgrades and lifecycle management

Infrastructure & Reliability

• Set up validator nodes and consensus configurations

• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments

• Monitor network health and troubleshoot production issues

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

• Take ownership of features from design to deployment

• Contribute to architecture decisions and roadmap planning

Requirements

• Strong experience with Ethereum and blockchain development

• Hands-on experience with Hyperledger Besu or similar clients

• Practical understanding of private transactions and permissioned networks

• Solidity smart contract development experience

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows

• Experience with distributed systems and secure architecture

• English level B2 or higher with confident spoken communication

• Ability to overlap at least 3 hours daily with U.S. time zones due to direct collaboration with the client

• Strong communication skills and proactive mindset
