Quality Assurance Tester
Opportunity
Are you looking to get your foot in the door of the software and games industry? Have you been working on personal projects with the hope of having a career conversion to do what you love for the rest of your life?
Then you should send us a resume right now!
We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Tester with a passion for ensuring that games and software applications run smoothly and deliver great user experiences. This role is focused on testing, debugging, and providing clear, actionable feedback to help our team deliver polished, high-quality products.
As a QA Tester, you’ll work closely with developers, designers, and product owners to understand project goals, test features, document issues, and verify fixes. You’ll participate in daily stand-ups, collaborate with a geographically distributed team, and contribute to maintaining our high standards of quality across all projects.
While this position is focused on Quality Assurance, it also offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the full development process. Many developers began their careers in QA — we strongly believe in promoting from within for those who demonstrate creativity, technical skill, and initiative.
Project stand-ups are scheduled during the morning hours in the Pacific Time Zone (PST). You must have at least 6 hours of overlap with the studio’s core hours (9am–5pm PST).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality assurance testing across both software applications and game features to identify bugs, inconsistencies, and user experience issues
- Document and report bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, and severity assessments
- Provide constructive feedback to Product Owners and Developers on usability, performance, and overall user experience
- Participate in user testing sessions and synthesize feedback into actionable recommendations
- Assist with feature verification and regression testing during development cycles
- Debug and polish features to ensure a smooth, high-quality release experience
- Attend daily stand-ups and coordinate with a geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary team (requires 6+ hours overlap with 9am–5pm PST)
Ideal Candidate
- Passion for software and game experiences, with an understanding of what makes them engaging and user-friendly
- Familiarity with testing processes and attention to detail when reproducing and documenting issues
- Comfort with UI/UX design principles and tools such as Figma for creating mockups or reference documentation
- Not afraid to embrace modern AI productivity tools to streamline workflows
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate issues and feedback to technical and non-technical team members
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while staying aligned with team goals
- Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Monday.com, or similar)
- Basic familiarity with Unity or similar game engines to navigate and test interactive content
Additional Desired Experience
- Previous QA or software testing experience
- Experience with playtesting methodologies and data-driven feedback
- Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
