Java engineer (with FirstSpirit)

We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer with strong FirstSpirit CMS experience to join a long-term enterprise project on an outstaff basis. The role involves developing and enhancing FirstSpirit-based solutions, creating custom modules, workflows, and templates.

• Java 11+ (preferably 17+)
• FirstSpirit Developer API
• FSM modules
• CaaS (headless JSON)

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in Java development
• Proven experience with FirstSpirit CMS (Developer API, FSM modules, workflows, templates)
• Strong understanding of CMS architecture and content modeling
• Experience with accessibility, frontend integration, and UX optimization
• Hands-on experience with workflow automation, security, and performance tuning
• Strong communication skills in English
• Ownership mindset and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Further development and implementation of new features within FirstSpirit CMS
• Template development and customization, creation and modification of layouts, forms, and scripts based on new design and functional requirements
• Module and component development, building custom FirstSpirit modules to extend functionality
• Workflow management, implementing and adapting workflows to optimize editorial processes
• Integration of FirstSpirit components with external systems and services
• Consulting and concept development, contributing to technical specifications, backend concepts, and best practices
• Documentation and knowledge sharing with internal development teams
• Quality assurance, ensuring adherence to coding standards and accessibility regulations

• Frontend kit enhancement (based on version 4.0), including:

  - Accessibility updates (keyboard usability focus)

  - Implementation of design updates per brand guidelines

  - Performance and UX optimizations

  - Security compliance and continuous benchmarking

  - Centralization of functionalities across country websites
