Full-stack developer for a browser game
We’re building a browser-based MVP for a turn-based game with RPG elements.
The goal is to understand the playability of the concept: proving core fun, pacing and potential balance with lightweight visuals, short sessions, and smooth online play.
Presumably, the stack of technology we're gonna use is JS / TypeScript (maybe with react.js) on the client with NodeJS with socket.io on the server side (but we are open to suggestions).
Ideally, we're looking for a full-stack developer who can understand and implement the concept.
It's not a long-term position, but a short-term project (2-3 month) on full-time basis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a map builder/editor for the testing purposes
- Develop the client and server side of the game based on the game design document and game mechanics overview
- Be lightly involved in the UI/UX design and implementation process
- Contribute to early telemetry hooks (match length, drop rate, win rates per class, etc)
- The system must be scalable so we can adjust/change mechanics on the go and prepared for AI integration for simulations
You also need to have some experience with RPG games in overall.
Start you application with "Games are cool" so we know you've read the job description.
Potential candidate(s) will be asked to sign a basic NDA agreement upon sharing details about the project.
