Senior Devops with bare metal experience

Role Overview

The client is an American IT company with Ukrainian roots that provides a unified service for running heavy software on any device for everyday users.

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong bare metal expertise to join our team and take ownership of building, maintaining, and scaling our infrastructure. 
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Linux environments,

virtualization, containerization, automation, monitoring, and modern storage solutions.

You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of our systems.

Responsibilities:

● Design, deploy, and administer infrastructure on Linux-based systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux).

● Deploy and manage bare metal servers from scratch, including provisioning, hardware configuration, and lifecycle management.

● Set up and manage virtualization platforms (KVM, Virsh, PVE, VMWare) from scratch.

● Implement and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Docker Compose.

● Administer databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), including migrations and performance optimization.

● Build and manage storage solutions (CEPH, software/hardware RAID).

● Implement Infrastructure as Code practices with Ansible and Terraform.

● Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools in Python, Go, or Bash.

● Set up and manage logging systems (Graylog, Elastic, Sentry).● Configure and monitor infrastructure using Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, and Nagios.

● Work with GPU infrastructure (Nvidia MIG, Nvidia-smi).

● Collaborate with developers and operations teams to improve deployment pipelines, system reliability, and scalability.

Requirements:

● 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.

● Strong expertise with Linux administration.

● Hands-on experience with virtualization, containers, storage systems, and databases.

● Proficiency with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).

● Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash.

● Solid knowledge of monitoring and logging tools ( Graylog, Elastic, Sentry)

● Ability to design, troubleshoot, and optimize complex distributed systems.

Nice to Have (a plus, but not required):

● Experience with Kubernetes and Helm.

● Knowledge of AWS CloudFormation.

● CI/CD experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
