Manual QA Engineer

About the Project

We’re hiring a Manual QA Engineer for a high-load payment gateway aggregator used across multiple markets in Asia and LATAM. The platform processes thousands of transactions daily and integrates with regional providers — it’s a critical part of the company’s financial operations.

Until now, testing has been handled by engineers and the CTO. We’re now ready to bring in our first dedicated QA to help the team focus on development and, together with the new PM, start building simple QA practices and documentation.

You’ll be involved in day-to-day testing of new features, integrations, and financial flows, while gradually setting up checklists and test cases to make the process more consistent.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Create and maintain test cases, checklists, and regression suites.
  • Test new functionality in payment flows and provider integrations.
  • Check financial/business logic (fees, amounts, balances, reporting totals).
  • Run smoke and regression tests before releases.
  • Log defects in ClickUp and follow them through to closure.
  • Work closely with PM and engineers to clarify requirements and support lightweight documentation.
  • (Nice to have) Use Postman/Swagger to verify API behavior.

What Makes You a Good Fit

  • 2–3 years of manual testing experience (web products).
  • Exposure to financial or other complex business systems.
  • Ability to structure test documentation and checklists.
  • Attention to detail, responsibility, reliability.
  • English for documentation and team communication.
  • Nice to have: API testing basics (Postman/Swagger).
  • (No SQL required at the start; no test automation planned for this project.)

Tech Environment
Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, TypeORM, microservices, Docker, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, provider APIs. (Devs use Jest for unit tests.)

Hiring Process

  • Intro call (30–40 min) with a Talent Partner.
  • Technical interview (~60–90 min) with the CTO: a mix of experience-based questions and a short practical QA exercise (e.g. exploratory testing on a demo or test-case design).

Why This Role Matters

  • Be the first QA in the team and grow into the role step by step.
  • Test critical fintech systems without bureaucracy or legacy.
  • Work in a small, supportive team with a new PM.
  • Long-term collaboration with a stable client.

Your next challenge is waiting. Let’s connect, talk about the impact we can make, and see if we’re the right fit for each other!
