Automation Engineer (Make.com, Zapier) to $1300

About the role
We’re shortlisting Automation Engineers for UK/EU/US clients. You’ll design, build, and maintain automations using Make.com and Zapier to eliminate manual work, connect tools, and ensure data reliability.

What you’ll do

• Build/maintain multi-step Make scenarios (routers, iterators/aggregators, data stores, custom modules, webhooks, error handlers).
• Build/maintain complex Zapier zaps (Paths/Filters, Webhooks, Code by Zapier JS/Python, Formatter, Storage).
• Integrate standard SaaS (CRM, support, e-commerce, billing, collaboration).
• Add resilience & monitoring: retries, idempotency, rate-limit handling, alerts/dashboards, cost control.

• Document flows and hand over to non-technical stakeholders.

   

Must-have

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Make.com and Zapier in production.
• Strong REST APIs/OAuth2/webhooks, JSON mapping.
• Scripting for light transforms (JavaScript or Python).
• Comfort with Sheets/Airtable/Notion and basic SQL.
• Versioning mindset, test data/UAT, change control.

• English B2+ for meetings and documentation; reliable laptop, webcam/headset, stable internet (backup hotspot preferred).

   

Nice to have

• n8n/Pipedream/Workato; serverless (Lambda/Cloud Functions).
• HubSpot/Salesforce APIs, queues/events, and observability.

Compensation

This is a contract role. The rate will vary based on your experience, portfolio, scope/complexity, hours per week (e.g., 20 hours vs. 40 hours), time-zone overlap with BST, and location.
